Axe Throwing Tournaments

Bring your own bracket or let us run one. We set the format, keep score and keep every lane coached and safe from the first round to the final throw.

How it works

1. Open the Tournament Lobby in the player portal. Join an open tournament, or create your own.
2. To host, name it and pick a format. Set a run time (optional), a registration cutoff, a minimum number of players (the tournament will not run below it) and, if you want one, a maximum. Add notes for your players.
3. Registration opens the week before the event and, unless the host changes it, closes the Wednesday before.
4. Every listing shows how many more players it needs to reach its minimum, or that the minimum is met.
5. Joined players and the host can open the Tournament Room for the roster and chat.
6. The host starts the tournament once at least two players have joined, and the final bracket stays up when it is done.

Formats

• Official match: 19 throws in two rounds (10, then 9), switching targets partway through each round. It is the format that feeds the seasonal Axe Classic on the leagues page.
• 10 Throw Match: 10 throws, switching targets after throw 5, with up to two called killshots. You call a killshot before the throw.
• 21 (Axe Blackjack): up to 10 throws on one target. Race to exactly 21. A throw that would take you past 21 busts and scores 0, and landing exactly on 21 ends the match as a win. If nobody lands on 21, the closest total under 21 wins.
• Axe Cricket: up to 12 throws. Close all six rings by hitting each value from 1 to 6. Closing all six ends the match, and total points is the tiebreak.
• Around the World: up to 15 throws. Climb the rings from 1 to 6 in order; only a throw on the ring you need next moves you up. Clearing ring 6 ends the match as a win, and total points is the tiebreak.
