Axe Throwing Birthday Parties
Skip the same-old party room. A large-group birthday at Chatham Axes books all four
outdoor lanes for a full two hours, so your whole crew throws together and nobody stands around
waiting for a turn.
What a birthday booking includes
- All four outdoor lanes for two hours on a 10+ group booking — your party only.
- A coach on the lane the whole session, teaching grip, stance and release from the first throw.
- Axes, targets and scoring handled for you. Bring nothing but closed-toe shoes.
- Food and drink from the vendors at The Plant, a few steps from the throw line.

Common questions
How many people can throw at a birthday party?
A large-group booking is 10 or more throwers and takes all four outdoor lanes for a full two hours, so the whole party throws together instead of waiting in a queue. Smaller parties book a single lane in the usual 1- or 2-hour slots.
How much is an axe throwing birthday party?
Groups of 10 or more are $25 per person for two hours. Under 10, it's the standard lane rate: $20 per person for a weekday hour, $27 for a weekend hour, $33 for two weekend hours.
Can kids throw axes at a birthday party?
Yes. Throwers 18 or younger must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times during the session, and a coach is on the lane the entire time.
Can we bring a cake and food?
No outside food or drink is permitted in the throwing area. The lanes sit inside The Plant in Pittsboro, so food and drink are steps from the throw line. Kingston 99 Kitchen, Ta Contento, Metal Brixx Cafe, Little Havana Cafe and Koshu Sake Bar are all on site.
What should guests wear?
Closed-toe shoes are required. No open-toed shoes on the lanes. Otherwise, whatever you can comfortably swing in. The lanes are outdoors and run rain or shine.
Do you travel to a party at our house?
Yes. The Mobile Throwing Unit brings caged lanes, targets, axes and a coach to your venue: $550 for two hours or $750 for three. All it needs is level ground and room to park.
