Chatham Axes › Golden Axe saga
Battle for the Golden Axe
A new chapter begins on the first of every month. Every completed match earns saga points, each chapter belongs to one of eight heroes, and the top thrower at the end of the month is crowned Keeper of the Golden Axe.
Chapter rules
- Every completed match earns saga points equal to its score, solo or multiplayer, in every format.
- During a chapter, matches in the hero's favored format count double.
- Allegiance bonus: throw under the chapter hero's banner and earn 10% more saga points.
- Your hero is your banner and your default portrait. You can swap any time.
- At the end of the month the top thrower is crowned Keeper of the Golden Axe, a permanent record.

The eight heroes
One hero holds the banner each month, in this order, and then the order starts again.
Themed sagas
Alongside the hero chapters, two group games run as themed sagas. Humans vs Zombies headlines October and Attack of the Space Invaders headlines July. Both are always playable as quick matches in the game lobby.
Humans vs Zombies
Defend humanity, beat the undead. Everyone picks a side, human or zombie, and the whole group shares one meter that runs from 0 to 20 and starts at 10. A scoring throw from a human moves it up one. A scoring throw from a zombie moves it down one. Humans win at 20 and zombies win at 0.
Attack of the Space Invaders
Defend the lanes, beat the invaders. It is a fixed 10-throw race between two sides. Defenders gain a throw for every hit. Invaders gain one and steal one from the defenders. The first side to 10 wins, and if the session ends first, whoever is ahead takes it.
