THE BATTLE OF THE GOLDEN AXE

Centuries ago, when the Kingdom Axcalibur was young, a Golden Axe was forged. By the heat of the volcano that marked Axcalibur’s Northern border, fairies created The Golden Axe and imbued it with magic guaranteed to bring prosperity to whomever wields it.

They presented it to the King as a symbol of Axcalibur’s alliance with the Fae, but as the King’s power grew he sought to expand Axcalibur and forced the Fae out of the ancient forests they called home.

Tales spread of Axcalibur and the legendary Golden Axe, and it wasn’t long before the kingdom came under siege. Fearing the enemy would get their hands on the Golden Axe, the King set out one night into the forest surrounding Axcalibur and hid the Axe in the hollow of a tree. He returned to his castle, but, in the ensuing battle, lost his life. Axcalibur fell into poverty and disease as the Axe remained hidden for a century.

Now, our 5 heroes set out on a quest to find the Golden Axe and restore Axcalibur to its former glory. A Wizard, learn’d in potions and incantations; a Knight, fiercely loyal and trained in battle; a Fairy, commander of nature and leader of the Fae; a Bard, keeper of human knowledge and reteller of lore; and a Wild Card hungry for power.
